SCULPTURE FOR BEGINNERS

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students will learn various techniques of working with ceramic clay, as well as how to form a simple figure, which includes basic anatomy, proportions, costumes, and hair. The course will consist of step-by-step projects suitable for beginners as well as more advanced sculptures. After the sculpture is built, finishing techniques will be discussed such as glazing, painting, or smoke firing. Along with figurative sculpture, the course will cover abstract sculpture and the creation of various ornaments and decorations. The course aims to give the students knowledge of ceramic clay sculpture and the opportunity to be expressive and creative.

Materials: Students should bring an apron or an old shirt to protect their clothes.
